The Backup Tab

The Backup tab gives you the tools to create, edit, or run backup jobs. Features on the Backup tab are only available in Pro or Enterprise versions and are organized into the following three groups:

Predefined Backups

The following list includes all of the possible predefined jobs in WinZip. Not all of the predefined jobs may be present in your installation of WinZip if your operating system is Windows Vista and/or if your administrator has elected to not install any or all of the predefined jobs. The predefined WinZip backup jobs are:

  • Documents: Runs a job that will zip all of the contents of the user's My Documents folder.
  • Documents Library: Runs a job that will zip the files and subfolders in your Documents Library (Windows 7 or later).
  • E-mail: Runs a job that will zip Outlook e-mail files and/or Windows Mail (Windows Vista) e-mail files.
  • More Backups: Select one of five other possible predefined backup jobs
    • Desktop: Runs a job that will zip the files and folders on your desktop.
    • Favorites: Runs a job that will zip the files and folders in your Windows Favorites folder.
    • Pictures Library: Runs a job that will zip the files and folders in your Pictures Library (Windows 7 or later).
    • Docs, E-mail, Favs, and Desktop: Runs a job that will zip the files and folders in your Documents, E-mail, Desktop, and Favorites.
    • All Libraries: Runs a job that will zip all of the files and folders in all of your Libraries (Windows 7 or later).

Custom Backups

  • Run: Find and run an existing WinZip job or select a recently run WinZip job from the dropdown list.
