WinZip® E-Mail Companion Requirements:

Operating System: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7 (see below).

Supported E-Mail Programs: Microsoft Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, Outlook Express 6.0, or Windows Mail 6.0.

Optional Supported Programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, or Microsoft Excel (versions 2002, 2003, or 2007).

These requirements only apply to the computer system where E-Mail Companion is installed. Recipients of your e-mail messages do not need E-Mail Companion and can use any e-mail program to read your e-mail. To open and extract the compressed Zip files, your recipient will need a Zip file utility such as WinZip or WinZip Pro.

WinZip E-Mail Companion Limitations:

E-Mail Companion's setup program will install only those components that are fully supported by your system at the time of installation. For example, if you have Outlook Express but not Outlook, setup will install only the Outlook Express/Windows Mail component. If you subsequently install Outlook, you will need to reinstall E-Mail Companion.

Outlook Express and Windows Mail are not supported under the 64-bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista.

Note: Windows 7 does not include Windows Mail. In order to use WinZip E-Mail Companion with Windows 7, a compatible version of Microsoft Outlook would need to be installed.

When using Outlook Express and Windows Mail, WinZip E-Mail Companion cannot automatically compress attachments in e-mail messages that you forward. This is due to restrictions in Outlook Express and Windows Mail that prevent access to attachments in forwarded messages.
