How do I register my WinZip software using the registration file?

WinZip Registration Instructions

Customers who purchase a multi-user license will receive an email confirmation after purchasing a license containing both a link to the WinZip distribution file and a link to your unique WinZip.wzmul registration file. This file contains registration information and a link to the WinZip web site so you can view the number of licenses assigned. To register your copy of WinZip:

1. Download and install WinZip from the link provided in your order confirmation.
2. Download your unique registration file (WinZip.wzmul) from the link provided in your order confirmation.
3. Double-click the WinZip.wzmul file (or a shortcut to the file) to begin the registration process (WinZip MUST already be installed in order to register the product). Alternatively, you can drag and drop it onto an open WinZip window, or right-click it in 'Windows Explorer' and choose Register WinZip.
   
   Note: dragging a WinZip.wzmul file onto an open WinZip window will not add the file to an archive, but instead will try to register the product.
   
   Finally, you can manually place the WinZip.wzmul file in the WinZip subfolder in the Windows Common AppData folder. This folder contains application data for all users. A typical path for the WinZip.wzmul file is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\WinZip (A typical path on Windows Vista is: C:\ProgramData\WinZip). The presence of WinZip.wzmul in this folder will convert the evaluation version of WinZip to a registered version.

The next time you run WinZip, the registration reminder screen will not be displayed.

Note: if you ordered a CD, customized for your organization, install WinZip directly from the CD and no additional steps are required to register.

WinZip E-Mail Companion Registration Instructions

Customers who purchase a multi-user license will receive an e-mail confirmation after purchasing a license. The e-mail will contain a link to the WinZip E-Mail Companion distribution file and a link to your unique WinZipEC.ecmul registration file. To register your copy of WinZip E-Mail Companion:

1. Download and install WinZip E-Mail Companion from the link provided in your order confirmation.
2. Download your unique registration file (WinZipEC.ecmul) from the link provided in your order confirmation.
3. Double-click the WinZipEC.ecmul file (or a shortcut to the file) and WinZip E-Mail Companion will automatically be registered (WinZip E-Mail Companion MUST already be installed in order to register the product). Alternatively, you can right-click the file in Windows Explorer and choose Register WinZip E-Mail Companion from the shortcut menu. Finally, you can manually place the WinZipEC.ecmul file in the WinZipEC subfolder in the Windows Common AppData folder. This folder contains application data for all users. A typical path for the WinZipEC.ecmul file is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\WinZipEC (A typical path on Windows Vista is: C:\ProgramData\WinZipEC). The presence of WinZipEC.ecmul in this folder will convert the evaluation version of WinZip E-Mail Companion to a registered version.

Customers who purchase a multi-user license will receive an email confirmation after purchasing a license containing both a link to the WinZip Self-Extractor distribution file and a link to your unique WinZipSE.semul registration file. To register your copy of WinZip Self-Extractor:

1. Download and install WinZip Self-Extractor from the link provided in your order confirmation.
2. Download your unique registration file (WinZipSE.semul) from the link provided in your order confirmation.
3. Double-click the WinZipSE.semul file (or a shortcut to the file) and WinZip Self-Extractor will automatically be registered (WinZip Self-Extractor MUST already be installed in order to register the product). Alternatively, you can right-click on WinZipSE.semul in Windows Explorer and choose Register WinZip Self-Extractor. Finally, you can manually place the WinZipSE.semul file in the WinZipSE subfolder in the Windows Common App Data folder. The presence of WinZipSE.semul in this folder will convert the evaluation version of WinZip Self-Extractor to a registered version. However, if you are on Windows 98, the WinZipSE.semul file goes into the WinZip Self-Extractor folder.

Note: if you ordered a CD, customized for your organization, install WinZip Self-Extractor directly from the CD and no additional steps are required to register.
