WinZip's Install feature makes it easy to install software, desktop themes, and screen savers distributed in Zip files.
The WinZip Software Installer
If the open Zip file contains an identifiable setup or install program, WinZip provides a one-click Install button that helps you install the software in the Zip file.
When you click Unzip and Install on the in Tools tab of the WinZip ribbon interface (Install if you are using Legacy menus/toolbar), WinZip will extract all of the files from the Zip file to a temporary folder and then start the setup program. When setup is complete, WinZip automatically deletes all of the files from the temporary folder. This allows you to install programs conveniently, without having to delete the temporary files that are needed only during installation.
For more details, including information about the UnZip and Try (CheckOut) feature, please see How do I install software downloaded in a Zip file?
The WinZip Screen Saver Installer
Note: In order to use the screen saver install feature with Windows 7 or Windows Vista you will need to open WinZip by right clicking a WinZip shortcut and choosing Run as administrator.
If WinZip determines that the open Zip file contains one or more screen savers, you can use the Unzip and Install button to install your screen saver. WinZip extracts the necessary files to appropriate folders and then opens the settings dialog for screen savers to complete your installation.
The WinZip Desktop Theme Installer
Note: Desktop theme installation does not apply to Windows 7 or Windows Vista.
If WinZip determines that the open Zip file contains a desktop theme, you can use the one-click Install button to install your theme. WinZip extracts all necessary files to appropriate folders and then runs the Windows theme installer to complete installation.
