WinZip Home

Starting with version 28.0 and 76.5 WinZip Home is easily accessible and will be of use to most people. To get there, you just click the Home button in the top left corner of the WinZip window. You will be able to easily navigate to favorite topics with the new home screen, which can be accessed from the ribbon.

Options include:

  1. Check for updates
  2. Make a new file, of any type WinZip makes.
  3. Use Open and you then can open Zip files, use Favorites, open a backup file (a job file), a PDF, or an image.

  4. See highlights of the installed and previous versions.
  5. Support: Click the support button and see a list of questions with links to the WinZip Knowledgebase.

  6. The Submit Ideas button:
    1. You must sign up to do this and then log in
    2. After, you can offer suggestions to improve WinZip and/or send ideas for new features.
  7. About WinZip:  If you click this, you will see the same information you see when clicking the blue Question Mark button in the upper right corner of the WinZip ribbon. One new aspect of About WinZip affects those with a subscription. The newest WinZip versions will show the Date of renewal for the subscription.

The bottom of the left column in Home supplies you a way to open any of the WinZip applets. They are:

  • SafeShare
  • PDF Express
  • Duplicate File Finder
  • ZipShare
  • Image Manager
  • Secure Backup
