Support by Microsoft for Windows XP ended on April 8, 2014. Usually, WinZip discontinues support for versions of Windows when they are dropped by Microsoft. However, continued popularity of the OS made it unfeasible to end WinZip support. Versions of WinZip up to 20.0 have all supported usage on Windows XP*.
In addition to this, a special WinZip XP build of WinZip 20.5 has been released. It will be the last build that will install and work on Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. The install file for WinZip XP is available on our Alternative Download Links page. A specific help file, WinZip_205XP.chm, can be downloaded for your use. It is listed below this article in the Attached Files section.
*Note: The original release of WinZip 18.0 did not work with Windows XP or Windows Server 2003. To install WinZip 18.0 on Windows XP or Server 2003, one must download and use a specific WinZip 18 for XP installation file.
