WinZip SafeShare

With WinZip® SafeShare you can share your files with confidence and security in an intuitive environment built with simplicity in mind. This powerful sharing tool allows you to share, compress, and encrypt, all within a simple interface. Easily share files to one or many locations, surrounded by extra layers of security, including military-grade encryption and time bomb capabilities.

To use SafeShare, you can either double click the shortcut on your desktop or you can select a file, files, a folder, or folders and right click. When starting from the shortcut, a small window opens into which you can drag and drop your items or you can click the Select button to locate and choose the items. If you have other items you wish to add, SafeShare allows that. Then you can click Continue for Step 2.

The second window provides you with these options:

• Share Using: you can share your zipped items as an attachment or a download link (a configured cloud service is necessary)
• Share As: choose the name for your Zip file or use the one suggested and decide if you want the Zip file encrypted.

If you choose to encrypt your files, a very secure password will be the default, but you can select to provide a custom password. In either case you will be given a Copy option for saving the password in a secure location of your choosing.

Step 3 provides a number of additional options. Once you see what they are you will be able to either quickly select them or ignore them. You will only be shown the Convert options that will be available to your items, but you can list all 5, which are: Watermark, Remove personal data, Combine into one PDF, Convert to PDF, and Reduce photos. The final 2 options are to either save a copy of the Zip you create or (if you use ZipShare) have the file deleted from the cloud in 30 days.
