Check for WinZip Update

This window allows you to check for the availability of a new final or service release of WinZip^® and to configure the future operation of WinZip's Check for Update feature. Choose one of the following options and then click OK.

If you want WinZip to check for an update now

If you want WinZip to check for an update now, choose one of the first two options in the Yes, Check Now section. In either case, WinZip will check for an update when you click OK; your choice affects the future operation of WinZip's Check for Update feature.

If you would like WinZip to automatically check for updates in the future, choose Then check automatically every, set the frequency (day or week) from the combo box, and click OK.

After the selected time period has passed, WinZip will automatically check for the availability of an update and notify you when an update becomes available. This is the recommended setting for most users.
If you would like WinZip to remind you in a week to check again for updates, choose Then ask me again in a week. WinZip will display this window again in approximately seven days.

Proxy setup

If your computer accesses the internet through a proxy server, click this link to open the Proxy Server Settings dialog where you can enter the settings for the proxy server.

If you do NOT want WinZip to check for an update now

If you do not want WinZip to check for an update now, choose one of the second two options in the No, don't check section:

If you would like WinZip to remind you in a week to check for updates, choose But ask me again in a week. WinZip will display this window again in approximately seven days.
If you would like to disable WinZip's Check for Update feature, choose And don't ask me again. In the future, WinZip will neither check for updates automatically nor ask if you would like to do so. You can change this behavior using the Updates tab of the WinZip Options window.

Notes

The time periods for selections using day or week are approximate because WinZip only checks for an update (or asks if you would like to check for an update) when it is run. Therefore, if you choose to check in a week, for example, and do not run WinZip on the seventh day, it will not check (or remind you to check) on that day. It will do so the next time you run it.
